Ich verstehe die Architekturbezeichnung i686 nicht richtig. Sind das nur die Intel-Prozessoren ab Pentium Pro? Oder gehören die AMD Athlon Prozessoren auch zur i686-Architektur?
Aus der gcc-man-Page (-mtune und -march): "i686: Same as "generic", but when used as "march" option, PentiumPro instruction set will be used, so the code will run on all i686 family chips."
Die Arch-Doku [1] sagt auch was dazu.
Und wie sieht es mit dem Transmeta-Crusoe-Prozessor aus?
Keine Ahnung ob der Crusoe das PentiumPro instruction set unterstützt. Frag am besten im Arch-Forum nach.
