Der Deal damals zwischen Novell und Microsoft hat Patente rund um Mono eingeschlossen. So wurden Novells Mono-Kunden vor Patentanspruechen durch Microsoft geschuetzt. Alle anderen hatten und haben den Schutz nicht. Auch Xamarin nicht. Seitdem sind nun auch noch die Novell Patente zu Microsoft gewandert was die Mono-Situation noch verschaerft.
