The GenBunToo project is an attempt to take the best ideas of Gentoo Linux and sort of mix them into the simplicity found in Ubuntu Linux without making the user do anything more complicated than what they do already.
A user will add the gen-bun-too package (Which does not yet exist), which would install the compiler and other handy stuff for building and installing sources. It would also install a step-by-step "setup wizard" that autodetect your processor type based on CPUID function, and let you confirm your processor type, and recommend optimizations that will benefit you.
It will then use the deb-src repos that already exist and let you compile from source to your archetecture."
