Hallo,

habe MySQL 5.0 auf einem Linux rechner entpackt.
wenn ich "./configure" eingebe kommt folgendes:
"This is a MySQL binary distribution. It's ready to run, you don't need to configure it."
Soweit alles klar.

Wenn ich jetzt aber mit "support-files/mysql.server start" versuche MySQL zu starten erscheint folgendes:
"Starting MySQL
support-files/mysql.server: kill: (31238) - no such process
ERROR!"

Ich versteh das nicht. Kann mir da mal jemand helfen?

Welche Distribution benutzt du? Warum verwendest du nicht das Paket für diese Distribution?
