Hallo,
ich habe irgendwie nen kleines Problem mit mein Onboard Sound. Wenn ich bei RedHat 8.0 die Soundkarten erkennung laufen lasse erkennt er den Sound Chip bei Play Test Sound kommt allerdings kein Ton. Ich hab auch schon versucht das Modul per Hand zu laden. Allerdings bekomme ich dann nur das....

Hmmm
ich hab die Module mal per Hand geladen allerdings will das i810_audio Modul immer noch nicht. Hab das ding in moment mit den OSS zeugs laufen nur will ich mir dafür keine Lizenz besorgen weil es auch nicht wirklich richtig funktioniert. Oft ist es bei den OSS ding so das wenn ich XMMS laufen habe auf einmal der Sound komplett weg ist ein andern mal kommt das ich sicher stellen soll das der Soundserver nicht von nen anderen Programm benutzt werden soll. Hinzu kommt dann noch nach ner Zeit nen rauschen beim abspielen dann muss ich XMMS schließen und wieder neu starten dann gehts. Also wenn das ding richtig gehn würde würd ich mir ja ne Lizenz zulegen aber so wüsste ich ned wieso. Hab auch schon auf der Intel Seite gesucht ob die vielleicht irgendwas haben aber fehlanzeige =(

hilft dir vielleicht, beraucht einen entwicklerkernel zu verwenden 
bei mir habe ich die module vom 2.4.18 und jetzt 2.4.19 verwendet. damit funzts.

naja auf der Intel Seite steht auch das der DMA Modus vom ICH4 auch erst ab Kernel 2.5.12 funktioniert und der Sound von den ICH4 halt ab 2.5.11. So da ich aber weiss das meine Platten in DMA Modus laufen kann das ja ned ganz passen =) Ich hab die ganze Nacht das Kernel Mail Archiv durchsucht. Bin dann da irgendwann mal auf jemanden gestoßen der geschrieben hatte das er nen Kernel Patch gebastelt hatte komplette ICH4 Unterstutzung für den 2.4.18 Kernel also genau den den ich auch grade benutzt. Da der ne RedHat Mail Adresse hatte hab ich dann weiter in Mail Archiv von RedHat gesucht und da hab ich dann gefunden das bei RH 8 der Kernel Patch mit drinne ist wäre dann auch ne logische erklärung wieso der DMA Modus geht. Und wenn ich das Sound Modul laden will erkennt er ja auch den Sound Chip. Also alles in allen sollte es eigentlich gehn tut es aber ned =(

Vielleicht kann ja damit jemand was anfangen und mir vielleicht weiterhelfen.

das device /dev/dsp wird vom kernel angelegt, wenn das laden des soundtreibers erfolgreich war (sollte ich mich irren, bitte berichtigen).

Ich hab das Device /dev/dsp schon das teil linkt bei mir auf /dev/dsp0 denke mal das es so passen wird.

den Onboard Sound würde ich per BIOS abschalten und eine vernünftige Soundkarte kaufen.
Aus Hardware-Kreisen weiss ich, das gerade der Onboard Sound die grösste Fehlerquelle des Mainboards ist. Ist der einmal defekt, kann man sich direkt ein neues Board kaufen.
Auf all meinen Mainboards habe ich einen integrierten Soundchip. Den habe ich per BIOS abgeschaltet und dafür eine bessere Soundkarte installiert. So gehe ich der o.g. Fehlerquelle sicher aus dem Weg.
