PPP-Problem

Hi,

ich versuche mich mit kppp und wvdial einzuwählen. Hat auch soweit geklappt. Aber bei dem pppd Punkt bricht er ab. Hier ist die Fehlermeldung:

PROTOCOL:LAPM
COMPRESSION:V42B
CONNECT 49333
--> Carrier detected. Starting PPP immediately.
--> Starting pppd at Mon Apr 2 18:41:54 2001
--> pid of pppd: 2872
--> Disconnecting at Mon Apr 2 18:42:25 2001
--> The PPP daemon has died: PPP negotiation failed (exit code = 10)
--> man pppd explains pppd error codes in more detail.
--> Try again and look into /var/log/messages and the wvdial and pppd
--> man pages for more information.

Vielleicht kennt ja jemand die Fehlermeldung. Ich benutzt SUSE 7.1

lies mal die man page von pppd unter den Fehlercodes. Bei Dir wäre Nr. 10 interessant.

Warum, ist nur mal neugier, benutzt Du nicht kinternet zum Einwählen.
Funktioniert bei mir ohne Probleme.

Also, kinternet hatte ich auch versucht. Und in der der man pppd stand, dass vielleicht ein Protocol fehlt. Werde aber daraus nicht schlau.

sind bei Dir die Netzwerkdienste eingerichtet?
Ist ein Nameserver eingetragen?
Bei kinternet kannst Du einen Provider vorwählen, (in Yast) dann werden diese Einstellungen eingetragen.
Ob für wvdial und kppp diese Providereinstellung übernommen werden weiss ich nicht.

keine Ahnung. Habe die SUSE 7.1 einfach mal installiert. Ich dachte Suse sucht den Nameserver automatisch. Wie bei der SUSE 7.0 auch.

Hi Chris,
das ist ein interessantes Problem! Genau das selbe passiert bei mir auch (pppd died {r.i.p.}) - ich habe das redhat Linux7 installiert und egal ob über kppp oder dialup oder rh dialer immer der selbe mist.

Ich habe mich mit dem SuSE-Installations-Support per E-Mail in Verbindung gesetzt. Wenn ich eine Lösung habe werde ich Sie posten und an Dich mailen.

Wenn jemand noch ne Idee hat, kann er es gerne posten.
