Hallo erstmal
Ich möchte einige recht grosse Dateien von einem Internetserver herunterladen, zu dem ich aber nur eine schlechte Verbindung habe. Deshalb würde ein download für mich recht teuer werden. Ich habe aber Zugang zu einem FTP-directory auf einem FreeWebSpace-Server. Kann ich den Server irgendwie anweisen, die Datei auf den FTP-Account herunterzuladen von wo aus ich sie dann wieder (diesmal mit besserer Verbindung) herunterlade...
Hoffe, dass man begriffen hat, was ich möchte, weiss einer Rat

was du willst, ist von zuhause verursachen, dass dein http-downloadrequest auf dem ftp-server landet, damit du von zuhause vom ftp-server den download machen kannst, richtig?

hm, irgendwas gibts da schon, hab von einem winuser mal sowas gehoert, fxp war das zauberwort, ist wohl eher in warez kreisen beliebt ...

What is FXP?
FXP stands for File eXchange Protocol and it let's you copy files from one FTP-server to another using a FXP-client (see the downloads section). Normally you transfer files using the FTP protocol between your machine and a FTP-server, and the maximum transfer speed depends on the speed of your Internet connection (e.g. 56k, cable or T1). When transferring files between two remote hosts using a FXP client, the maximum transfer speed does not depend on your connection but only on the connection between the two hosts, which is usually much faster than your own connection. Because it is a direct connection you will not be able to see the progress or the transfer speed of the files.

aber jeder halbwegs ordentlich konfigurierte ftp server hat das deaktiviert
und von http nach ftp gehts schon gar nicht
(falls du auf dem webserver eigene cgis ausführen kannst, kannst du's über ein perlskript runterladen)
du kannst aber auch einen (mehr oder weniger) öffentlichen proxy benutzen

wie man sieht, laeuft nix ohne froinde, also frage einen, der dsl hat oder so und spendier ihm ne bierparty dafuer oder so <img src="http://www.pl-forum.de/UltraBoard/Images/Wilk.gif" border="0" align="middle">
