X Server stürzt ab

Nachdem ich folgenden Treiber installiert hatte : NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2313.i386.rpm
stürzte der X Server beim nächsten booten mit folgender Log-Datei ab :

Bitte helft mir!! Wie kann ich den alten Treiber wiederherstellen? Ich weiss ja nichtmal was für einer das war...

Hi!

Wie du deinen alten Treiber wiederbekommst weiß ich leider auch nicht genau. Aber folgende Sachen könnten helfen den Treiber den du jetzt verwendest ans laufen zu bekommen.

Hast du den zur Datei NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2313.i386.rpm auch das passende Kernel-Modul installiert? (Müsste NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2313.i386 heißen).
Dieses Modul musst du auf jeden Fall noch installieren. Anschließend muss in der Module-Section der XF86Config-4 noch folgendes stehen
Load "glx"

Vielleicht bekommst du es so ans laufen.

Wenn nicht kannst du dein System vielleicht in einen lauffähigen Zustand zurückversetzen in dem du in der XF86Config Driver "nvidia" durch Driver "nv" ersetzt. Dann hast du den Standard XFree86 nvidia-Treiber. Dann fehlt dir allerdings eine vernünftige 3D-Unterstützung.

Ich hoffe das hilft dir schon mal irgendwie weiter. Falls nicht einfach nochmal melden.

Ich vermute mal das blablabla garnicht wußte was er macht und warum...
Einer JENER die dem Treiber-Update-Wahn verfallen sind.
Schlimme Sache. Beinahe unheilbar!

msp hat schon alles gesagt, nur eine kleinigkeit ist nicht korrekt.

der 'load glx' eintrag sollte _entfernt_ werden wenn der nvidia treiber verwendet werden soll, da dieser seine eigene mitbringt (ebenso dri, das beim verwenden des nvidia treibers nutzlos ist).

Hallo blabla
Die neusten Nvidia_Treiber haben die Nr. 3123 (gibts auch für Mandrake)dort brauchst du das kernelmodul und den glx_treiber
beide installieren und den Rechner neu booten. Dann die XF86Config neu mit deinen Konfig_prg erstellen Lassen.
[Load "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.so"}
dafür solltes du (oder gucken wohin der Link zeigt, muß auf den neuen Treiber zeigen)
Load "glx" eintragen.
GLXeintrag wird auch bei Nvidiatreiber benötigt.

Gehe auf Nvidia's Homepage. Dort gibt es eine sehr gute deutsche Installationsbeschreibung.

Vielen Dank. Ich werde eure Tipps sofort ausprobieren.

Zu Windoofi :

Ich wusste sehr wohl was ich da gemacht hab, beziehungsweise zumindest dachte ich es zu wissen. Ich wollte nämlich das paket kmp3indexer installieren, welches die datei libGLcore braucht. Also fand ich heraus, dass diese Datei in dem NVidia-Paket enthalten ist, ohne jedoch zu wissen dass ich damit einen anderen Treiber installiere. Blöderweise lief kmp3indexer auch dann nicht und nach dem booten war mein X weg.


Alen anderen danke ich für die konstruktiven Vorschläge!!! Es ist nämlich überhaupt nicht selbsverständlich dass einem Anfänger so geholfen wird. Woanders wird man beschimpft, dass man die Konfigurationsdateien nicht per Hand bearbeitet, sondern per Tool...


Leider läuft mein DSL-Anschluss unter Linux nicht, da ich das USB-Modem "AT-AR215" benutze, für das es (noch) keine Linux-Treiber gibt. Dadurch muss ich immer wieder von Lin nach Win über einen Neustart des Rechners...
Also falls einer hier einen vorschlag hätte, den DSL-Zugang mit diesem Modem einzurichten, würde mich das sehr freuen...
