Das ist ein Zeichen, dass der Bootmanager LILO ein Problem hat. Ehe ich das
lange erkläre, ist es das Beste, nochmal den Installationsvorgang zu starten.
Da ich vor ziemlich langer Zeit Suse 7.1 installiert habe, weiss ich nicht
mehr alle Details, aber entweder wird sowieso angeboten, neu zu installieren
oder das installierte System zu booten oder man kommt in dieses Menü, wenn man
den Bootvorgang bei der ersten Möglichkeit abbricht. (Noch besser wäre es
natürlich gewesen, eine Boot-Floppy während der Installation zu erstellen).
Wenn man nun wählt, dass das installierte System gebootet werden soll, wird
man nach der root-partition gefragt. Wenn man die noch weiss, hat man schon
gewonnen, andernfalls hilft probieren.
Dann ist man aber erst einmal wieder 'im Besitz' des Systems und kann etwas
nach Informationen kramen, z.B. durch Aufruf von susehelp. Das genannte
Problem liegt ziemlich wahrscheinlich daran, dass LILO, dessen erster Teil
im MBR liegt, seine 'Fortsetzung' nicht findet. Das kann z.B. daran liegen,
dass ein Mischsystem SCSI und IDE vorliegt. Dazu gibt es etwas versteckt
Erläuterungen im Handbuch (bei vollständiger Installation mit susehelp zu
finden), ich glaube, unter dem Kapitel zu LILO.

bin schon beim 3. Neuinstallieren, Bootdiskette laesst sich waehrend Installation nicht erstellen, mal kein Laufwerk vorhanden, mal Disk nicht formatiert, manchmal hat man ein gaenzlich anderes System drauf, das sich auch nicht starten laesst, Ich uebe weiter,Danke
