Ich habe Linux (Grub, SuSE 8.1) auf meiner /hda und möchte nun auf meiner neuen Festplatte /hdb Windows installieren. Doch dieses verweigert mir die Installation, da die /hda kein DOS sei. Weiß jemand, wie ich ohne /hda zu plätten Windows installiert bekomme? /hdb wurde mir schon mit FAT32 formatiert.
Die Windows-Jünger haben mich schon enterbt, hat hier jemand ein Herz für mich? (oder zumindest einen hilfreichen Link?)

Du meintest ja auf die zweite Platte und nicht auf die
zweite Partition.
Also, info grub
...If you have installed DOS (or Windows) on a non-first hard disk, you
have to use the disk swapping technique, because that OS cannot boot
from any disks but the first one. The workaround used in GRUB is the
command `map' (*note map::), like this:
grub> map (hd0) (hd1)
grub> map (hd1) (hd0)...

Ich frage mich, wie ein OS mit solchen benutzerunfreundlichen Einschraenkungen jemals einen nennenswerten Marktanteil erreichen will. So wird das nichts, ihr Leute aus Redmond <img src="http://www.pl-forum.de/UltraBoard/Images/Happy.gif" border="0" align="middle">.
