Grafikkarten Treiber

Hey,
ich habe als linux distri

Freespire 1.0

Leider is auf Freespire nur die 2d also keine 3d treiber enthalten.
Und da ich gerne mal 3d spiele unter linux spielen möchte, bräuchte die die 3d treiber.
Ich hab zwar schon gesucht, aber nix gefunden :-(
Folgende Grafikkarten Daten kann ich euch liefern :

ich würde eigentlich behaupten, dass Freespire alles an Bord hat, was es für diese alten sis-chips an Treibern gibt.
Um zu überprüfen, ob die 3D-Beschleunigung funktioniert, kannst du in einer konsole
'glxinfo' und dann noch 'glxgears' ausführen (letzteres kannst du von Hand abbrechen, wenn es keinen Fehler sondern ein paar Werte geliefert hat)
und die Ausgabe mal hier posten.

Afaik enthält Freespire Xorg 6.9. Es gibt zwar inzwischen Version 7.2, aber ob sich am sis-Treiber seither überhaupt was geändert hat, sollte man unbedingt klären, bevor man sich die Mühe macht, einen neue Version zu installieren.

Also ich mein die 3d beschleunigung funzt xD
aber des problem wenn ich ein game installier und es läuft auf open gl oder sonstiges dann rückelt es aber derbe auch wenn der grafikkarten speicher auf 64 mb eingestellt is...
Is in fast allen 3d games so .. hmm


obwohl ich unter windows schon etwas grafik intensivere spiele spielen kann ..

Das sollte "Yes" ergeben, außerdem sind die glxgears-Zahlen ziemlich niedrig. Mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit hat der Prozessor das berechnet, glxgears ist ja nicht grad anspruchsvoll.

Im Kernel gibt es seit einiger Zeit einen DRI-Treiber für die SiS630 und kompatible. Kannst ja mal gucken, ob der dir weiterhilft.

Danach einmal X neu starten. (z.B. Strg+Alt+Rücktaste). Der agpgart-Treiber sollte auch geladen sein. Um uns über deine Treiberkonfiguration aufzuklären, mach mal:

und poste das Ergebnis.

So wie es aussieht sind alle Treiber für den Videoadapter (sis, drm) bereits geladen. Die für das Board scheinen auch da zu sein (sis_agp, agpgart) -- das Board hat eine SiS-Northbridge mit integrierter Grafik, richtig?

An fehlenden Kerneltreibern sollte es also nicht hängen, dass dein X kein Direct Rendering unterstützt, muss was mit X zu tun haben. Poste bitte auch mal dein /var/log/xorg.0.log.

Ok, Der Xorg-SiS-Treiber wird geladen, aber DRI wird dann nicht eingeschaltet. Dazu habe ich folgendes gefunden: http://ffm.junetz.de/members/jh/linux/dualhead.php4

Offensichtlich veträgt der SiS-Treiber sich nicht gut mit dem Vesa-Framebuffer. Also muss man in /boot/grub/menu.lst die Kernel-Kommandozeile, die der Bootloader übergibt von "vga=..." säubern, und auf der Konsole einen Textmodus verwenden, oder man nutzt sisfb.

Letzteres ist etwas nicht ganz so einfach. Probier mal, ob das streichen von vga=... aus der Kernel-Kommandozeile was bringt. Kannst du auch direkt im Grub-Menü machen.

Übrigens musst du dafür tatsächlich auch mal neu booten...

Weitere Dinge, die in der /etc/X11/xorg.conf in die Section "Device" müssen, falls du sisfb nicht benutzt.

da ich es aber jetzt nich ganz verstehe, wäre es hilfreich es für ein "linux noob zu erklären" ?

übrigens lade ich gerade freespire 2.0 vll. funzt es dort. naja es loadet noch

Probier einfach mal folgendes:
Im grub menü gehste auf deinen Starteintrag und drückst (ich glaube es ist die Taste) 'a'. Dann kannst du die Startparameter ändern, sprich du machst einfach den Teil 'vga=...' weg.

Sollte das schon helfen, brauchst du das ja nur jedes mal zu machen :D oder du änderst dann halt die grub/menu.lst mit nem Texteditor auf die gleiche Weise.

Naja, das ist schon ein Problem. Wenn du nicht genau verstehst, wie du bestimmte Änderungen, die wir dir vorschlagen, vornehmen musst (Dateien ändern, Bootlader-Konfiguration ändern etc.) besteht die Gefahr, dass du derbe was kaputtmachst. Das wollen wir natürlich nicht, deshalb ist die Grundregel: "Einem Anfänger nicht zu viel Seil geben."

Man kann zu Linuxthemen schnell eine Erklärung finden, indem man "Thema Howto" in die Suchmaschine der Wahl schmeißt und sich das Howto durchliest. "Grub" wäre so ein Fall, xorg.conf ebenfalls. Außerdem kannst du in die erwähnten Dateien reingucken, meist sind hilfreiche Kommentare drin.

Wenn du dir immer noch verloren vorkommst, solltest du mal bei deiner örtlichen LUG vorbeischauen und dir gegen Bewirtung von jemandem persönlich helfen lassen.
