Samba Problem

Hallo,

ich habe Suse 8.1 Personal und einen Laptop mit Windows 2000.
Jetzt möchte ich zwischen den beiden Rechnern über die Netzkarte Dateien
austauschen und habe Samba installiert, aber so richtig
funktioniert das nicht mit der "connection".

IP-linux: 192.168.0.3
IP-win : 192.168.0.2

Du hast da schon allerlei gemacht, verstehe es nicht ganz, aber egal, ich erzähl dir mal wie ich das gemacht habe.

- smb.conf anpassen, unter "Global" netbios name = [Name] verwenden, damit du vom w2k-explorer die Linux-Kiste siehtst.
- dann passwörter auf samba anlegen: smbpasswd -a [Username]
- dann Samba neu starten (rcsmb start,rcsmb stop, rcsmb restart)

das war alles, dann hat es bei mir funktioniert.

Hi

den Linux rechner sehe ich im Explorer. Nur eben keine verzeichnisse darunter. Aber das mit den Passwort unter Samba habe ich noch nicht gemacht. Ich habe auf win auch in der lmhosts den linux rechner eingetragen. Unter netbios name steht noch nichts. Ich probiere das mal aus.

hi

der user der zugreift braucht ein linuxkonto und
dann eben mit smbpasswd -a <user>
ein sambakonto

und wenns noch immer net hinhaut post einmal die smb.conf

auch mit Passwort für den User (hat ein Konto auf dem Linuxrechner) gehts nicht.

Hallo zusammen,

mario, arno: noch mal vielen Dank für Eure Hilfe, aber ich habs leider nicht mit Samba hinbekommen, auf die Windows Freigaben zuzugreifen. Keine Ahnung, woran das liegt. Mache es jetzt über ftp.

Samba hat in einigen Versionen ein Problem, wenn der Admin (root) das smbpassword setzen will geht es NICHT.
Man muss sich dann sambauser mit leerem Passwort anlegen, als user einloggen und das password setzen...
Etwas umständlich aber dann klappte es bei mir...
Ich kenne das Problem von mehreren Distributionen, SuSE 8.1 ist da bestimmt nicht anders ;)
