Hallo zusammen, ich habe mal zwei Fragen, wobei ich denke das sie sich recht einfach beantworten lassen, doch leider bin ich ein NewBe und habe in den Hilfen nix gefunden!
Benutze SuSE Linux 8.1
1. Besteht die Möglichkeit aus dem X-Server-Anmeldefenster heruas das System herunter zu fahren indem ich den Powerknopf am Gehäuse betätige? ATX-Bord ist vorhanden.
2. Ich habe ein DVD-Laufwerk zum installieren im Rechner gehab, welches ich nun wieder ausgebaut habe. Jetzt ist das Lw aber immer noch im KDE3 sichtbar und auch in der Hardwarekonfiguration wird es noch angezeigt. Wie kann ich das DVD-LW komplett aus dem System entfernen?

Wenn du ein ACPI fähiges Mainboard besitzt, kannst du den ACPI-Daemon "acpid" verwenden.

Thats exactly what I need. Thanks.
One problem I had, though. With ACPI on (and thus APM off) the system
wouldn't power off after halting. Here is the reason:
The shutdown script on my system (SuSE 7.2) looks for /proc/apm or
/proc/sys/acpi and calls 'halt -p' in both casese, else 'halt'.
Changing /proc/sys/acpi to /proc/acpi solved that last problem.
I suppose that other (older) kernel versions used /proc/sys/acpi instead
of /proc/acpi. The best solution is then to check for existence of one of
/proc/apm, /proc/sys/acpi and /proc/acpi.
