3D/openGL unter Mandrake 9.1 mit Radeon8500

Hab ein Problem (bin linux neuling):

kann unter mandrake keine 3d/openGL hardwarebeschleunigung verwenden. habe bereits die neuesten ati treiber sowie dieses DRI runtergeladen und versucht zu installieren. leider gibt da ne fehlermeldung: kernel modul nicht kompatibel oder sowas. was mach ich falsch, wer kann helfen?

Wie lautet die Fehlermeldung denn genau? Und woher hast du die?

Die neuesten ATI Treiber für Xfree 4.3.0 scheinen installiert zu sein. Allerdings wird unter fglxrinfo folgendes ausgegeben:
[root@jpm /]# fglrxinfo

->mesa3d ist doch ein software renderer? Dort sollte doch nach Installation des ATI Treibers nicht MESA GLX sondern ATI erscheinen!??

Beim Installieren von DRI (http://dri.sourceforge.net/) kommt folgende Meldung:

ERROR: Kernel modules did not compile

The DRI drivers can not be installed without the latest kernel modules.

Im log file steht:
Makefile.linux:137: *** Cannot find a kernel config file. Schluss.

Ich denke mal dass ist ein super Troll DAU Fehler! Da gibts doch bestimmt ne Lösung, oder? Also bitte helft einem Linux Anfänger!

also bei mir funktioniert 3d ab instalation der download edition mit xfree4.3 und einmal ankreuzen fur 3D bei der installation habe allerdings eine radeon 9000
