installation von nvu web authoring system auf suse

hi zusammen,

bin ganz frisch in der linux welt angekommen und habe keinen plan.
habe suse9.1 aufgesetzt. alles was mir im moment noch fehlt ist ein guter webeditor ähnlich dreamweaver. möchte gerne den nvu editor installieren. aber ich weiss nicht ob das ding unter suse überhaupt läuft und wie man es installiert. hier der link zum download.

die datei entpacken habe ich noch geschafft, aber ich finde kein readme oder install file. der befehl ./configure funktioniert überhaupt nicht. warum?

gehe einfach mal in das entpackte verzeichniss und tippe
./nvu
ein und danach ein return.

Get mozilla/client.mk

cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs-mirror.mozilla.org:/cvsroot co -r MOZILLA_1_7_1_RELEASE mozilla/client.mk


the password for the anonymous account is anonymous.


If you're using Windows, save this file in the mozilla directory the previous command just created and edit it.
If you are using Linux, save this file in the mozilla directory the previous command just created and edit it.
In both cases the name of the file is .mozconfig (dot mozconfig).
Then carefully read the Mozilla build instructions for Windows or the detailed Mozilla build instructions for Linux and do:

make -f client.mk pull_all


Delete the directory composer (and all its contents) located in the mozilla directory created above.

Get the Nvu specific code:


Save this file and uncompress it into the mozilla directory created above.

tar xfz nvu-0.41-source.tar.gz


Save this patch file, uncompress it and apply it from the mozilla directory created above.

gunzip trunk-0.41.patch.gz

patch -p 0 < trunk-0.41.patch


Build the code.

make -f client.mk build_all

After the build, there is in the mozilla/dist/bin (Linux) or mozilla\dist\bin (Windows) directory a file called nvu or nvu.exe. Just run it to start Nvu. Don't forget to look at the Tips and Hints section at the bottom of this page.

die nvu aus dem von dem oben angeführten link ist sofort ausführbar und braucht sonst nichts.

mozilla nutzt den composer (gecko-engine), es kann also sein das man es beim kompilieren braucht. die binaries brauchen es aber nicht. hab es schon probiert nur gefällt es mir halt nicht. es fehlen zu viele funktionen (noch).

bei mir lässt sich die nvu nicht ausführen.
habe folgendes gemacht:
wurmgu@xxx:~/download> cd ./nvu-0.41
wurmgu@xxx:~/download/nvu-0.41> ./nvu
*** global extensions startup!
wurmgu@xxx:~/download/nvu-0.41>

muss ich die dateien vielleicht in ein bestimmtes verzeichnis kopieren?

hi zusammen,

konnte das problem nun endlich lösen. hatte das falsche package (fedora) verwendet. mit dem anderen http://cvs.nvu.com/download/nvu-0.41-pc ... gnu.tar.gz
funktionierts.
einfach downloaden und entpacken. danach reicht ein klick auf die nvu datei.

ps: wie bekomm ich nun eigentlich einen shortcut auf den desktop?
