Hallo,

habe ein Asus Notebook mit XP und Ubuntu. Beim Einschalten bekomme ich immer eine Fehlermeldung:
[ 322134 (o.a. Zahl)] ata1. soft reset failed - danach folgt noch irgendeine Meldung bez. fatal error, aber das ist so kurz, dass ich es nicht sehen kann.
Bei ca. jedem 3.,4. Start bleibt dann auch der Monitor schwarz. Der X Server kann offensichtlich nicht starten. Nach Aus- und erneutem Einschalten gehts dann wieder. Heute musste ich sogar zweimal neu einschalten.

Kann mir jmd. weiterhelfen,

Das sieht verflixt nach einem Plattencrash aus. Sobald der Rechner mal durchstartet, solltest du
Code:

# smartctl -a /dev/sda

machen und das Ergebnis hier posten. Außerdem kommst du auch nachträglich an alle Logmeldungen dran, die stehen in /var/log/messages. Dort den relevanten Teil rauskopieren und ebenfalls hier posten.

Das war jetzt der irrelevante Teil. Relevant gewesen wären die Zeilen um die Meldung "soft reset failed", was du anfänglich erwähnt hattest.

dann gibts dazu aber offentsichtlich nichts. Ich habe alles was ich zum Fehlstart um 08,04 Uhr gefunden habe reinkopiert.

Was soll ich tun?
