Im Moment schreiben die Kernel-Coder ja echt tausende von Zeilen innerhalb kürzester Zeit. Ein Wort des Lobes dafür. Da tut sich was. Hoffentlich bringt der Kernel 2.4 auch wirklich so viel neues *hoff*
Ich wunder mich auch, das JETZT erst diese vielen Änderungen kommen.Es ist fast so, als wenn alle flott werden wo der Termin für 2.4 in Aussicht steht.
Meintest du das Problem, das die Geräte nicht erkannt wurden? Da war bei allem UHCI-Controllern (sprich intel- oder VIA-Boards kein Interrupt vergeben). Das Problem lag im PCI-Code. Sogar USB-Chefenrwickler Randy Dunlap hatte das Problem.
Ja, das könnte es gewesen sein ich hab nen Intel Board, aber ich habe einfach meinen alten Kernel weitergenutzt. Ist mit 2.3.99pre8 allerdings behoben. Bei mir lauft er bis jetzt problemlos(seit 15min) :-)
But I'll be gone for three weeks, and in the meantime there's a "2.4.0-test1" kernel here. It's not a real 2.4.0 release, but we should be getting closer. There's going to be other test-kernels after this one, and we'll find bugs. And bad behaviour. And wonderful features which we'll document some day.
Alan Cox is most likely to maintain a "2.4.0-ac" series while I'm gone. Not the same thing as 2.4.0 either, but by testing these test-kernels out and giving feedback, we'll get to that some day.
