War eigentlich auch nicht anders zu erwarten. Unity 7 erhält "nur" noch Bugfixes, Mir und Unity 8 kommen frühestens 15.10 zum Zug, wo sollen da die Neuerungen herkommen?
Mal schauen was das Ubuntu Smartphone am Ende taugt. Solange keine echte Konvergenz im Stil von "Ubuntu for Android" vorhanden ist (Das Smartphone als Desktopersatz), fehlt der "Killeraspekt".

Progress on Wayland itself is sufficient for me to be confident that no other initiative could outrun it

despite also believing that Unity, with all its GL dependencies, is the best interface for the desktop. We’ll help GNOME and KDE with the transition, there’s no reason for them not to be there on day one either.
GNOME und KDE tun auf Wayland mittlerweile. Unity weder auf Wayland noch Mir. Die gross angekündigte Hilft gabs auch nie.
Ich frag mich ja immer noch ob neben grosspurigen Ankündigung überhaupt mal was rumgekommen ist. Kann jemand irgendwas nennen das von Mark gemacht wurde ohne im Sand zu verlaufen?
